On January 4th, 2011, Washburn & Doughty Associates, Inc. of East Boothbay, Maine began construction a 93’, 6000 HP Z-Drive Tug for the Moran Towing Corporation of New Canaan, Connecticut.
On September 1, 2010, Washburn & Doughty Associates, Inc. delivered the Mary Ann Moran, a 121’ x 36’ x 18’ Intercon Tug, to Moran Towing Corporation. Designed by Ocean Tug & Barge Engineering Corp., Mary Ann Moran is the fourth vessel built by Washburn & Doughty to this design and delivered to Moran Towing.
On February 9, 2010, Washburn & Doughty Associates, Inc. of East Boothbay, Maine delivered the LORETTA B. MORAN to Moran Towing of Lake Charles, LLC. The 98’, 6600HP, Z-Drive Tug is the sister to the CATHERINE C. MORAN, which was delivered on November 10, 2009. Both tugs will provide tug services for Sempra LNG’s new Cameron LNG terminal, located near Hackberry, Louisiana.

Washburn & Doughty Associates, Inc. of East Boothbay, Maine is pleased to unveil its new 80’ x 33’-9” Z-Drive Tug design. The vessel is designed for ship handling and harbor work. It admeasures less than 150 gross tons and has a Load Line length of less than 79’ allowing it to operate without a Load Line assignment. The tug is designed to exceed ABS standards and customers can choose to specify ABS class.
