Gramma Lee T. Moran is the eighth 92' Z-Drive tug designed and built by W&D for the Moran Towing Corporation of Greenwich, Connecticut. She is the second member of the 5100HP Diane Moran Class.
The tug was named in honor of Lee Tregurtha, wife of Moran's CEO and Chairman of the Board, Paul Tregurtha.
Two EMD 12-645F7B main engines, each rated at 2550HP @ 900 RPM, and Ulstein 1650H Z Drives power the vessel. The vessel has a bollard pull of approximately 136,000 lbs, and a service speed of 13.5 kts.
Gramma Lee T. Moran features a Markey electric hawser winch and capstan. In addition, a Caterpillar 3406TA engine and an Aurora pump supply two fire monitors with 3000 GPM of seawater at a minimum of 125 PSI.
The vessel is classed ABS Maltese Cross A1, Maltese Cross AMS, with notation Towing Service and Fire Fighting Capability.
